Dr. Maura Henninger is a licensed and board-certified Naturopathic Doctor based both in New York City and Connecticut who offers natural health options for everyday health concerns. She believes that each person is unique and treats patients with the utmost care and compassion, working with each to create a personalized holistic treatment plan that will include a combination of supplementation, detoxification, lifestyle recommendations and methods to optimize the mind-body connection. Dr. Maura loves educating her patients and is committed to ensuring that each patient fully understands his or her treatment plan. She also thinks that the key to optimal health lies in the fusion of conventional and holistic medicine and works closely with MDs and other health professionals to ensure a patient’s greatest success.
After receiving her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, she continued her studies at The Columbia University Premedical Postbaccalaureate Program. Her life-long passion for holistic healing led her to the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine. After completing four years of study, 1200+ hours of in-residence clinical training, and a medical internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, she earned her doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine. She received additional training at The New England School of Homeopathy. She writes and blogs extensively on medical subjects for The Huffington Post, among other publications, in hopes of introducing the great benefits of natural medicine and holistic nutrition to as many people as possible. She is also boarded as a Certified Nutrition Specialist®.
She lives in Manhattan with her husband Michael, daughter Maya and dog Hudson with whom she enjoys getting out into nature every chance she gets.
Dr. Maura is a member of leadership board of the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
